Labels and Stickers Guide

Custom Labels & Stickers for Product Packaging

Most packaging orders are actually two orders. A CBD brand needs a carton for the shelf and a label for the bottle inside it. A soap maker needs a box and a wrap label. A candle brand needs a rigid box and a base label with burn instructions. Ordering those from two suppliers means two lead times, two proofing rounds, and color that does not quite match between the label and the box it sits in.

Custom labels and stickers on rolls, sheets and die-cut, in BOPP, paper, kraft and holographic materials, specified alongside your packaging so the two match.

Labels Produced Alongside Your Packaging

The label and sticker range below can be produced alongside your packaging on the same order. This is the part of the catalog that completes an order rather than starting one — it sits directly behind our CBD Boxes, Pharmaceutical Boxes, Cosmetic Boxes and Soap Boxes ranges, where the carton is secondary packaging and the label goes on the primary container inside it. Single quantities and wholesale volumes are both available.

Labels or Stickers: Which One You Need

The two words are used interchangeably and they describe different products with different materials, formats and price structures.

A label is applied to a product or its container and carries information — the brand, the contents, the dosage, the ingredients, the batch. It is supplied on a roll or a sheet, sized to a specific container, and is usually ordered in larger quantities because every unit needs one.

A sticker is promotional. It is die-cut or kiss-cut, handed out, stuck on laptops and water bottles, and its job is reach rather than information. Materials overlap but the ordering logic does not: labels are priced for volume application, stickers for distribution.

If it goes on the product, it is a label. If it goes in the bag as a freebie, it is a sticker. Ordering the wrong one usually shows up as an adhesive that fails on a curved bottle or a minimum quantity that does not match how many you actually need.

Matching Labels to Your Packaging Stock

This is the reason to order both from the same place, and it is not a small point.

A kraft label on a bleached white carton looks like a mistake. A gloss label on a soft-touch matte box reads as two different brands. And the same brand color printed on a BOPP label and on kraft board will not land in the same place, because one is printing onto a bright white synthetic film and the other onto a warm brown fiber base.

When the label and the carton are produced together, the stock can be matched deliberately — kraft label on kraft box, white BOPP on a white gloss carton — and the colors can be proofed against each other rather than separately. A specialist sticker printer cannot do that, because they are not making your box.

It also collapses two lead times into one. Rather than waiting for a label supplier and a box supplier to converge, both come off the same order on the same schedule.

Materials and Adhesives

Material choice is driven by what the product goes through, not by appearance.

BOPP is a synthetic film and the standard for anything that gets wet, cold, oily or handled repeatedly. It is waterproof and oil-resistant, and it survives refrigeration and condensation without the label lifting or the print running. White BOPP is the general-purpose choice; clear BOPP gives a no-label look that shows the product or the container color through, which suits cosmetics and beverages.

Paper labels cost less and take writing well, which matters if batch numbers or dates are added by hand. They are not waterproof and are the wrong choice for anything refrigerated, oily or likely to be wiped down. Kraft paper labels give the natural look that matches kraft packaging. Holographic and foil finishes are decorative and work as authenticity cues on higher-value products.

Adhesive is a separate specification. Permanent is standard. Removable or repositionable suits promotional use and anything a customer might want to peel off cleanly. For curved containers — narrow tinctures, lip balm tubes, small jars — the adhesive and the label’s flexibility both matter more than they do on a flat panel, so tell us the container diameter.

Lamination on top of the label, matte or gloss, adds scuff and moisture resistance and is worth specifying for anything that will sit in a bathroom, a fridge or a handbag.

Rolls or Sheets

This is an operational decision about how you apply them, not a preference.

Roll labels feed through automatic and semi-automatic applicators and peel fast by hand, which makes them the right choice for repeat volume of a single design. They store compactly and are the cheaper option per label at quantity.

Sheet labels suit hand application, short runs, and cases where you need several different designs in small quantities — a range of six scents at fifty units each, for example, where a roll per scent would be inefficient. They are also easier to store partially used.

If you are applying by hand and running multiple SKUs, sheets are usually right. If you have an applicator or a single high-volume design, rolls are.

Compliance and Information Labeling

For several of the categories we serve, the label is where the regulated information actually lives, not the box.

CBD and supplement products carry dosage instructions, ingredient declarations and batch or lot identifiers, often with a QR code linking to that batch’s lab results. Cosmetics carry INCI ingredient declarations. Soap sits under different rules depending on the claims made — a bar sold only as soap needs no ingredient list, while one described as moisturizing becomes a cosmetic and does. Food products carry allergen and net quantity statements.

Two practical points. Required information has minimum legibility standards, so it needs enough label area at a readable type size rather than being shrunk to fit — decide the label size after establishing what has to go on it. And batch and expiry information changes per run, so leave a dedicated clear zone for it rather than designing around a fixed placeholder.

Packaging Suppliers can produce the label and the carton to carry that information between them, but confirming what your product legally requires is your responsibility and your regulatory advisor’s, not ours.

foil stamping

Foil Stamping

Add a metallic or holographic sheen to your logo or key elements. Foil catches the light and signals premium the second a customer picks up the box.

Emboss/Deboss

Press your logo or pattern into the stock for a raised or recessed texture customers feel before they read it. No ink; the impression does the work.

lamination

Lamination

A protective film over the printed surface that locks in the finish and guards against scuffs, moisture, and handling.

spot uv

Spot UV

A high-gloss coating on select areas: logo, title, pattern; for sharp contrast against a matte background.

custom inserts

Custom Inserts

Fitted inserts that hold product in place, cut movement in transit, and control the reveal on opening.

Custom Styles

A cut-out with clear film so customers see the product without opening the box, built for retail shelves.

Unlimited Customizations

Every Detail, Your Way

Endless finishing options so your product packaging looks exactly how you imagined it — and then some.

Everything you need to know about ordering custom packaging.

Labels are typically applied directly to packaging, containers, or products to communicate branding, ingredients, or usage information. Stickers are usually stand-alone pieces used for promotions, giveaways, or personalization rather than attached to a package. Both are available through this category and can be ordered in any custom size or shape.

Labels and stickers can be produced in any custom size and shape rather than a fixed set of standard dimensions, so they can be cut to match your container, packaging, or intended design. This is useful for irregular shapes, die-cut designs, or labels sized to fit a specific product.

Labels and stickers can be printed using digital, offset, or screen printing to reproduce full-color designs, logos, and text. Finishing options include matte or gloss lamination, soft-touch coating, spot UV, and foil stamping, allowing you to match the finish to your packaging or branding needs.

No, there’s no minimum order quantity, so you can order a small batch for testing or personal use, or a larger volume for ongoing packaging and branding needs. Pricing and turnaround can vary depending on order size, so it’s best to confirm details when requesting a quote.

Standard production typically takes 4-8 business days, with rush turnaround available if you need your labels or stickers sooner. Actual timing can vary depending on order size, print complexity, and finishing options, so it’s best to confirm current lead times when placing your order.

Yes, samples are available on demand so you can review the print quality, finish, and material before committing to a full production run. Free shipping applies to standard orders but not to sample orders, so shipping costs may apply when requesting a sample.
